How do you connect the ACTATek using dynamic IP address such as ADSL Broadband?

Answer:

If you are using a dynamic broad band connection, you need to have a router with DDNS function. To explain it in a simple way, there are 2 steps:

1.          You have to setup a domain name for your router.

For example: “http://myofficerouter123.com” is preset in your router as its domain name. Once the function is on, you router will be located by connecting “http://myofficerouter123.com” even your IP address is keep on renewing every time when the connection is establishing.

2.          You have to setup the port forwarding.

For example, you can forward the port 8000 in the public address to the port 80 of the ACTAtek’s IP address.  Once the port forwarding function is on, the port 8000 in the public IP will be forwarded to the port 80 of the ACTAtek’s internal IP.   In case you are not in the office but you want to access the ACTAtek in your office, now you can use an Internet browser to type: “http:// myofficerouter123.com:8000”.  Then, the ACTAtek’s webpage will be appeared.
